“The Program for the Intellectual and Spiritual Development of the youth” 2014-2015

"Intellectual-Educational Studio" was founded by the International Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, with the financial support of the International Organization “World Vision”. As in the “Intellectual-Educational Studio-Laboratory”, founded in 2011, “The Intellectual and Spiritual Development of youth” has held very interesting lecture cycles in 2014-2015 school year:

• Ethics. Ethics and Social Responsibility
• Mediation – Conflict Resolution through negotiations
• State and Religion
• Eastern Literature and Art The

2. “European Union and the European court system for Human Rights; The Human Rights Body of the United Nations and its Monitoring Mechanisms” Lecturer – Diplomat Kakha Chitaia
3. “The Phenomenon of Negotiations in Diplomacy” Lecturer – Lawyer, Diplomat Lasha Jvania.
Each Lecture took 2 hours.
After every Lecture cycle, there was a discussion in order to sum up and strengthen the received information.
At the beginning of the school year, the participants received books, published in the previous projects of the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 academic year: 1. “Some aspects of the youth’s educational and spiritual development”; 2. “Mediation and Conflict Psychology”; 3. “For the development of the youth’s intellectual and spiritual sides”. These books turned out to be of much help to the students.
The beginning of every cycle was announced on the website of the Patriarch’s foundation.
It must be noted, that in the social network, the students created a special page “We are learning Mediation”, where they would actively communicate and share their views with one another.
The school year started on November 6 and ended on May 30.
On the last day was a discussion between the coordinators and students, to find out how well the youth received this project. They were deeply influenced by the lectures on Mediation, World Literature, Ethics, Esthetics and more. They noted, that the lectures deepened their interest towards the discussed topics and were very thankful for having a chance to discover art at museums, expositions, plays and concerts.
During the project, students visited the Museum of Applied Arts, the History Museum of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire – where there was a special concert held for them.
They attended an evening dedicated to the memory of the composer – Mary Davitashvili, 2 plays at the Film Actors Theatre and 7 concerts of the Festival “Easter to Ascension” at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
On June 30, 2014, after the end of the 2014-2015 School year, 33 successful students were awarded a certificate in a festive event by the General Manager of the Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia – Lasha Jvania and the representative of the International Organization “World Vision – Nana Danelia.
