Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia has met with the members of Alexander Kazbegi Society

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archdishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Sukhumi-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II has met with members of Alexander Kazbegi Society.

The society, which was formed last year and is chaired by the Catholicos-Patriarch himself, has many projects and ideas. It is planned to establish a competition for writers, to publish five volumes of Alexander Kazbegi’s novels and translate his works into various languages.

2013 year marks the 165 years since the birth of Alexander Kazbegi. By this date it is planned to install the monument of the writer on Kazbegi Avenue. Catholicos-Patriarch talked about the ways of how to make younger generation back to the books. The meeting participants agreed to establish a mobile libraries, with the help of which writers can visit the regions and gift the rural population by their books.
