“INTELLECTUAL AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH” May – 2016

In May in the “Intellectual-Educational Studio of Youth” at the international Foundation of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, within the framework of the project “ Intellectual and spiritual development of youth” the following lectures were held:
On May 5, within the new course - "Oriental Literature and Art" – students watched documentary film - "Queen Tamar" . Young philologist Tamta Grigalashvili discussed this educational film. She introduced the creative team (Director - Levan Lomashvili, Screenplay - Nino Sadgobelashvili and Guram Megrelishvili, Artist - Khatuna Giguashvili, the star of the film, the narrator - actress George Zanguri).
On May 12, a meeting was dedicated to the discussion - "Oriental Literature", which was held by the orientalist, Professor George Lobjanidze with the lecture topic ,, icon and a symbol of oriental literature. " He discussed specific aspects of poetry. The lecture focused on the two main components of the Oriental literature – image and poetic symbols. Discussions focused on the establishment of the components which specifics their use in variety of cultures.
On May 19, Professor George Lobjanidze led the lecture and had talked about the "Oriental art development tendencies".
May 8 - the concert was dedicated and devoted to composer Vazha Azarashvili’s 80th anniversary. The concert program included Instrumental as well as composer’s vocal works. Young people were especially impressed by the renowned Baritone - Gia Gagnidze with whom, after the concert commemorative photos were taken.
May 18 - the students were invited to the Tbilisi Opera House to Zakaria Paliashvili’s opera “Abesalom and Eteri” . Young people were impressed with the performance as well as the renewed theater.
May 20 - students attended the concert in which world renowned multi-musician from Israel Khen Tsimbalista was soloist and conductor.
May 22 – On the next concert of the festival studio students visited the Great Hall of the Conservatory, where concert of Georgian choral music was held. Georgian chants, folk songs and other works of the composer were played in that evening.
The aforementioned project is carried out with the support of Non-Governmental International Organization “ World Vision”
