The International Festival 'From Easter to Ascension'

In 2006, the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and Akaki Ramishvili Foundation "Tradition and Innovation" founded the annual International Festival "From Easter to Ascension".
The main purpose of the festival is to popularize the traditional and academic arts.
Priorities of the festival:
To promote the creativity of the citizens working in foreign countries;
The organization of the festival evenings, as in the capital as across the country.
The festival traditionally begins in Tbilisi on the next week from Easter (Bright Easter Week). Then, a few evenings are held in the different regions of the country. The festival culminates in the Ascension in one of the regions of Georgia.
In 2008, the Public Broadcaster of Georgia dedicated to festival a special full-length music film - "From Easter to Ascension."
Since its establishment the artistic side of the festival was led by many well-known musicians. The first festival started under leadership of a young pianist Valerian Shiukashvili, II festival was directed by famous composer Bidzina Kvernadze, the consultant of the III festival was the world-famous violinist Liana Isakadze, and in 2009 the festival was headed by the talented young conductor Nick Memanishvili (Rachveli), the V Festival was leaded by Marina Iashvili and VI Festival – by Alexander Korsantiya.
Since 2012, under the decision of the organizing committee of the festival, the residing in the United States famous Georgian pianist Alexander Korsantiya was appointed as the permanent artistic director of the festival.
In VI and VII festivals "From Easter to Ascension" (artistic director Alexander Korsantiya), together with local and operating abroad Georgian musicians also have performed well-known foreign musicians: Vladimir Feltsman (USA), Sergei Babayan (USA), Suren Bagratuni (USA), Tehila Nini Goldstein (Israel), Yaniv D'Or (Israel) and others.
The winner of first prize of the III International Piano Competition in Milan "Enkore! Shura Cherkassky" Aljosa Jurinic (Croatia) also participated in the VII festival. It should be noted that, starting from the VII festival, on the recommendation of Alexander Korsantiya and the decision of the festival’s Director, every second year the festival will engage the winner of this contest.
